Driver dragged by car delivering for Uber Eats during a robbery in Akron
The police in Akron were called to the 700 block of Rocky Brook Drive to investigate a report of an Uber Eats driver that was robbed.
When the police arrived, they found a 23-year-old driver injured after a woman had stolen her car. The victim told the police she had left her car running unattended in the parking lot briefly while she was delivering a food order to an apartment complex. The delivery driver reached for the door handle and the suspect took off, dragging the victim down the road about 50 feet.
The driver was taken to the local hospital after she suffered injuries to both her arms.
The owner of the car’s 2008 Chevrolet Impala was found a couple hours later. The suspect is described as a black female in her early to mid-20s and was last seen wearing a black shirt and head scarf.
