Former Uber driver is accused of six sexual assaults in Milton and Boston

William Mancortes

An ex-Uber driver has been accused of 6 sexual assaults that occurred in both Boston and Milton.

William Mancortes, 43, a resident of Hyde Park, was arrested by the Boston Police and is now facing two rape count charges and one count of indecent assault and battery that happened in Boston.

Mancortes is also wanted out of the Quincy District Court on aggravated rape charges as well as a kidnapping charge. He had been charged last year in Quincy District Court with the indecent assault and battery and was accused of groping his passenger while he was working as an Uber driver.

All of these allegations have dated back to 2017.

He had previously pleaded guilty to the indecent assault and battery on a child under the age of 14 and lewd, wanton and lascivious conduct charges in the Dedham court in June. In that case, he had kissed and exposed himself to a teenager.

In the police report it says that investigators had pointed to a pattern, stating that: “All six of the sexual assaults took place in the early-morning hours inside the suspect’s vehicle, with five of the victims believing they were getting into an Uber. All six sexual assault victims were targeted due to their intoxication levels and were alone when picked up.”

In his latest charges, a Sexual Assault Evidence Collection Kit had assisted the detectives in identifying the suspect that was in connection to the incidents and it could result in further charges as the detectives continue through their investigation.

“These allegations are atrocious, and the suspect was banned from the Uber platform years ago. We take reports of this nature very seriously and cooperated with law enforcement on their investigation,” an Uber spokesperson said in a statement.
