A former rideshare driver has been officially charged with a sexual assault after picking up a woman in a city of Maine.
The police in Bangor said they had charged the 28 year old driver with gross sexual assault as well as unlawful sexual contact after he picked up a woman in June after she had left a nightclub. The woman called police the next morning to tell them about the assault, and how she was intoxicated when it happened.
According to Police, the deriver was taken into custody and was being held without bail at the Penobscot County Jail, where he was awaiting his first court appearance.
The Police said that according to Uber, the man had been terminated shortly after.
